2-CHARLES TAPP (RUDOLF MUSIC)

'2' is the second CD of drummer/vocalist CHARLES TAPP and although I heard and even reviewed his debut a few years ago, I don't know anymore how it sounded. What I do know is that this is a great new record of Charles and I'm gonna look for his debut in my attic later this week. Musically this CD is filled with music that I would like to describe as a mix of AOR, Progressive Rock and Pomprock. It sounds a lot like TIMMY and EYE, 2 bands I reviewed sometime ago and even interviewed (so please check back in our huge archive). Opener "Tailor made" is a great start, this is a fantastic uptempo AOR/Pomprocker a la RATHSKELLER. The rest of the CD continues in the same style, sometimes a bit more Progressive Rock, while at other times very AOR/Pompish, but always with great melodies and big keyboards. My favourite tracks are "All I need" (AOR/Pomp), "Reasons" (progressive pomprock, "Whatever" (pure 70s progressive rocker), "Into the mood" (great keys) and "How 'bout you" (great uptempo AOR). Actually everything sounds very good, and I can easily recommend it to fans of Progressive Rock (70s style) and AOR/Pomprock (80s style). The official release will be in early 2002, so just keep checking the site of the label at: http://www.rudolfmusic.com
